| The present work had the objective of evaluating the effect of different line spacing upon some agronomic parameters of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) culture. The experiment was conducted in county of Palotina, in the west region of Paraná State, Brazil. The studied spacing were 0.8, 1.0, 1.4 e 1.6 m between lines and 0.6 m between plants, which rendered population densities of 20,830, 16,660, 13,880, 11,900 and 10,410 plants/ha. For the production of fresh and dry root matter and stem fresh matter, the best space between lines was 1.0 m. The highest number of tuberous roots per plant, obtained with the space of 1.40 m between lines did not guarantee the highest productivity of root matter/ha. | ABSTRACT Increased planting density, different types of thinning management, and the use of beneficial microorganisms have been adopted as strategic tools in the effort to increase crop yields in a sustainable manner. This investigation evaluated the growth and production of ‘Prata Anã Gorutuba’ banana ( Musa spp., AAB) under different plant densities during two production cycles in the semiarid region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. | ABSTRACT Brazilian watermelon productivity is not efficient when compared to the largest producer countries, due to abiotic and biotic factors. Some of the difficulties are because of a small number of studies on this crop in Brazil. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of plant density and fruit thinning on two commercial watermelon hybrids (Talisman and Youlie), using trials which were carried out in two different seasons (April - July and August - November). | The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different drip irrigation regimes and planting densities on the incidence of the leaf miner, Leucoptera coffeella, in arabica coffee plants for one year. The experiment was carried out in 2008, in a complete randomized block design, in a split-plot in time arrangement, with four replicates. | ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to quantify the accumulation of nutrients in the bark of four eucalyptus clones at 12 years-of-age, planted at different population densities, and the values were extrapolated to kg of nutrients per hectare.
